Solstice Kin + Carta, a digital innovation and emerging technology firm, announced the promotions of Gregg Wheeler to Chief Growth Officer and Ryan Maguire, Kevin Gumz, and Dan Ptak, to VP-level roles. They will continue to serve in the company’s marketing, emerging capabilities, and delivery management practice areas, respectively.
“These promotions reflect the strength and depth of each leader’s responsibilities and their enormous potential to drive change,” said Kelly Manthey, Solstice’s CEO. “These leaders exemplify the highest standards we need as we structure our organization for future growth and to ensure we can respond quickly to the fast-changing needs of our clients.”
Gregg Wheeler is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results. Most recently as Vice President of Client Engagement at Solstice, he led the sales team through a critical point of transformation, helping Solstice consistently rank over the last decade as one of the fastest growing firms in Chicago. As Chief Growth Officer, Gregg is responsible for driving growth at Solstice and will lead the global demand organization, which includes the sales, partnerships, marketing, and business development teams. He is also leading the efforts to drive growth at the global level by engaging teams and initiating new strategies with the company’s Kin + Carta businesses.
A proven leader with a strong technology foundation, Ryan Maguire is uniquely qualified to drive innovation efforts and bring to market new capabilities within Solstice. Ryan joined Solstice in 2017 as Director of Solution Delivery, applying his 15+ years of industry and technology experience to help evaluate client solutions. Ryan quickly hit the ground running, overseeing the launch of Solstice’s Augmented Intelligence launch in 2018. While maintaining ownership of this practice, Ryan will lead the company’s emerging capabilities group including the Solstice Labs group, contributing his deep technical and business thought leadership insights to drive future business initiatives and practices.
Kevin Gumz brings to Solstice 20+ years of experience in leading the delivery of technology solutions across multiple verticals, including financial services, retail, agribusiness, and automotive. In his two years at the company, he has demonstrated his ability to craft strategic solutions and deliver client engagements with a strong track record of successful value creation. As a leader of Solstice’s customer experience delivery practices, he will partner with delivery teams to lead strategy and execution while ensuring operational excellence.
Dan Ptak joined Solstice in 2016 where he assumed the lead marketing role. During this time, he has overseen the growth of the brand, which included the launch of three new practice areas in the last three years: Conversational User Experiences, Cloud-Native Development, and Augmented Intelligence. For the last year, he has also served as head of marketing for Solstice’s parent firm, Kin + Carta, which last year rebranded and launched a first-of-its-kind operating model called The Connective. In his new role, Dan will continue helping Solstice and Kin + Carta launch new practice capabilities and to push the bounds of what's possible with new and emerging tech.
“With these appointments, we are continuing to build an executive team that has a proven record of success, an unwavering commitment to our clients’ needs, and a clear initiative for driving unrivaled innovation,” said Manthey. “Their vision and leadership will continue to make Solstice a digital innovation firm and a place our employees love to work.”
