One year ago today, on October 30, 2025, Solstice Advanced Materials rang the Nasdaq opening bell and launched as an independent, pure-play specialty materials company with a bold ambition: to continue advancing science for smarter outcomes.

With an advanced materials heritage of more than 130 years, Solstice helps customers solve some of the world’s most complex challenges in computing, energy evolution, safety and defense, and smarter health outcomes.

As we celebrate our first anniversary, we're reflecting on more than milestones. We’re looking at the material difference our science, innovation, and customer partnerships make possible – from enabling next-generation computing to advancing energy evolution, protecting people and supporting applications across healthcare and oral-care markets. Read along as we highlight what we achieved together.

Solstice Milestones in Energy Evolution:

  • As energy demand grows, Solstice announced the expansion of uranium conversion production at its Metropolis Works Facility. The facility is projected to produce more than 10 kilotonnes (10 kt) of UF6 in 2026.
  • To accelerate the development of emerging technologies for customers across key markets, Solstice announced a $49 million investment to expand R&D capabilities in Buffalo, NY, for refrigerant and thermal management research, enhanced toxicological testing, and the construction of a lab for advanced energy storage materials. The site has been at the forefront of advanced materials innovation since the facility opened in 1955.

  • As the automotive industry advances lower-emission solutions, Solstice launched a Direct-to-YF retrofit concept that helps customers transition R-134a air conditioning systems to a lower global warming potential refrigerant. The retrofit will enable professionals to accommodate R-1234yf without replacing or modifying existing 134a air conditioning system components.

Solstice Milestones in Healthcare:

  • To meet growing demand for advanced oral care solutions, Solstice expanded their global stannous fluoride production capacity in Seelze, Germany, helping customers improve oral health outcomes for people around the world.
  • To support the safe and effective delivery of medicines worldwide, Solstice increased production of Aclar® barrier films in their Pottsville, PA, site by commissioning the new Pelletizer-4 (APL-4), which is designed to increase pelletizing capacity. In addition, the site opened a new Global Packaging Lab to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and to enable customer testing, training, and product development.
