Solstice Advanced Materials Issues Statement About Its Intellectual Property Position Relative to Hydrofluoroolefins

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., Sept. 9, 2026 – Solstice Advanced Materials (NASDAQ: SOLS), a global leader in high-performance specialty materials, issued the following statement today about its intellectual property position: 

“Solstice is aware of a recent public announcement from another chemical company regarding the planned introduction of hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) 1234ze and 1234ze-containing blends. While Solstice does not comment on specific third-party products, business plans or product supply, this announcement does not alter our view that key elements of the Solstice patent portfolio are relevant to processes for the manufacture of HFO-1234ze. To date, Solstice has not licensed any manufacturing-related IP to others. 

“Solstice has invested heavily over several decades in research and development, resulting in a substantial and globally recognized patent portfolio covering compositions, applications and processes of manufacture. Because the investment has occurred over many years, the portfolio has staggered expiration dates. A number of manufacturers have challenged Solstice's intellectual property rights in proceedings around the world. Those challenges have largely been unsuccessful, underscoring the strength of Solstice's patent portfolio.  

“Solstice has devoted substantial resources to monitor the global HFO marketplace and competitive activity, investigate potential infringement and its relationship to Solstice's patent estate, and engage with customers, suppliers and competitors regarding intellectual property issues. These activities have led to customs seizures, regulatory and criminal complaints, and infringement actions as well as settlements and public acknowledgments of Solstice’s IP by customers and suppliers.
